The Challenge:
As Founder and Creative Director, I conceptualised ‘No You Grow Up’ to fill a gap the world needs right now: pure, unapologetic ‘Feel Good Nostalgia!’. This wasn’t just a passion project; it was a strategic case study in building a brand ecosystem from zero. The challenge was to transform a love for 80s, 90s and early 00s culture into a thriving community and commercially viable physical brand by leading with high-energy storytelling and a curated visual identity.
The Concept:
No You Grow Up - Feel Good Nostalgia!
“The world is a bit too serious lately, so I've built a ‘trapdoor’ back to our favourite decades: the 80s, 90s and early 00s...”
The creative response focused on ‘Tactile Nostalgia’ – architecting a playful visual identity that translates seamlessly across digital UX, auditory storytelling and physical product design. By building a ‘trapdoor’ back to previous decades, I developed a multi-sensory digital world that extends beyond retail. From prototyping ‘must-have’ products to producing a dedicated podcast and socials, my role as Creative Director is to ensure the brand energy remains consistent across every screen and speaker.
The Experience:
The result is a highly engaged, loyal community where the emotional connection is pure nostalgic joy. By synchronising product R&D with interactive social storytelling, I’ve transformed No You Grow Up into an experience rather than just a storefront. This project serves as a personal masterclass in end-to-end project management, proving that a strong narrative vision can turn nostalgic memories into a living, breathing brand.
